To allow us to connect the landing page to your main domain, and to use a subdomain such as go.yourdomain.com, we need to “point” your domain to our server.
This is done by adding a record to your DNS settings for your domain. Do not delete/replace any existing records – you only need to add a new one.
Where to add the DNS record
Your DNS settings will be managed at one of a few places, depending on your specific setup:
MOST LIKELY:
- Domain Name Registrar. This is the default method.
OTHER POSSIBLE PLACES
- CDN (such as Cloudflare). This is applicable if you have configured your website to use a content delivery network (CDN) such as Cloudflare.
- Web Hosting Server. DNS can also be managed via your web host.
How to identify where your DNS is managed.
- If you use Cloudflare, your DNS will be managed there
- If not, it’s highly likely to be managed via your domain registrar
- In rare occasions, it will be managed via the web host.
If you need help figuring this out, let us know and we can assist.
How to add a DNS record
The process of adding the DNS record is quick and easy.
1. Navigate to your DNS settings page.
2. Click ‘Add Record’ or similar, and enter below details:
- TYPE: A
- NAME: go
- CONTENT: 195.250.23.59
- TTL: Leave on default
3. Save changes
4. Inform us that the record has been added.
It can take up to 48 hours for the changes to ‘propagate’, but the process usually completes in less than an hour.
