This guide shows you how to create a Meta Pixel that you own, add it to your Business Portfolio, and share access with our agency so we can manage and optimise your Meta ads correctly.
This ensures:
- You retain full ownership of the pixel
- Data stays in your Meta account
- We can access and use the pixel properly as your agency partner
Before you start (important)
Please make sure:
- You have Admin access to your Meta Business Manager
- Your Business Portfolio is already shared with our agency as a Partner
If you’re not sure, you can still follow the steps below — Meta will prompt you if access is missing.
Step 1: Create the Meta Pixel (you must own it)
- Ensure you are logged into the correct Business Portfolio
- Go to Meta Events ManagerFrom Meta Business Suite, click on All Tools in the sidebar and select Events Manager
- Click Connect Data
- Select Web → Create New Dataset
- Name the pixel (e.g. Company Name – Pixel)
- Click Create Pixel
At this point, you own the pixel — this is exactly what we want.
Step 2: Connect the pixel to your Ad Account
- Go to Business Settings
- Open Data Sources and Pixels
- Select the pixel you just created
- Click Connected Assets > Connect Assets
- Choose your Ad Account and click Add.
Step 3: Assign the pixel to our agency (partner access)
- In Business Settings, go to Partners
- Select Our Agency from the partner list
- Click Assign Assets
- Choose Pixels
- Select the new pixel
- Enable Manage Pixel access
- Click Save
✅ We can now use the pixel for tracking, optimisation, and ad delivery.
Next Steps
Once these steps are complete, let us know and we’ll:
- Confirm access
- Handle pixel setup, events, and testing
- Ensure tracking is working correctly
If anything looks different in your Meta interface, that’s normal – Meta often changes wording, but the structure remains the same.
